Warda, Texas, 1996

We had no idea who the guy was, but he beat the crap out of all the other Pro's that showed up. Turned out it was Floyd Landis. He's doing ok now...I know, because I see him on TV every morning, still beating the crap out of all the Pro's. This time it's not Warda, but Tour De France.
At least I can say that I was on the same page in Norba News as Floyd.
..as my friend used to say: The difference between us and those guys is the same as the difference between shooting a bullet, and throwing it.

Morphine goooood, mmmk.
Ok, so that is now over and I have been introduced to a new friend, Mr Morphine.
I like him.
We'll see how well I'm doing when he leaves.

Not bad racing for a gimp.

Hard to believe that my leg is broken in the picture.
Ok...Here's the deal. On Friday at 7.00am I will go under the knife to get the bones reset and pinned. It will be done at Park Cities Medical Center by Dr Turgeon.
I should be out late the same day and then it will be 4 weeks until I can walk without crutches.
Though I am a bit apprehensive, I'm ready to get on with this thing.
Wish me good luck!

Maybe not.

Unfortunatly, that whole thing did not work out. Riding in 1st, I went down in a corner about half-way in to the first lap (of 3) and twisted my foot pretty bad. It hurt like hell, but I thought I could get my shit together and catch the lead-group that had now passed me....
Well, turns out that thing is broken. Big time. Now I'm waiting for get some plates and screws in that sucker so I can walk again.

50 miles on a MTB * 2

I rode out to the summer-house again and had a really shitty ride. It was *really* windy, raining off and on and I was not in a mood for either.
It was 50 miles of cursing.
The ride back was *much* better as the weather was perfect, almost no wind and I was accompanied by my brother-in-law so we could take turns on the front.
